The Karnataka political tussle has just got another twist after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hinted at contesting the 2028 assembly elections in the state. He had, while filing nomination in 2023 , had said that would be his last election. However, in an interview to a news channel, Siddaramaiah said he might reconsider his decision as party cadres want him to continue.
“I had said I won’t contest in the 2028 elections. But all my friends are saying I should contest in 2028 because it will help the party. I haven’t decided on it,” the CM said at a News18 summit. The senior Congress leader said he was not interested in national politics, and that the decision of the high command in Delhi will be final.
