JD Gyms is poised to open its 100th UK gym, as the chain flexes its muscles in the 24-hour fitness sector and eyes further growth.
The Wigan-based chain, a part of the global retail group JD Sports Fashion, will celebrate this milestone with the inauguration of a new gym in Enfield, north London , this November.
It has plans for two additional openings before the year's end, and aims to launch 10 to 15 new gyms in 2026.
Launched in 2014, the brand has a significant presence across the North of England, but believes the new Enfield location will pave the way for future expansion across Greater London.
A £21 million investment programme over the past financial year has seen upgrades to gym floor equipment and most sites converted to 24-hour operation.
