Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday inaugurated India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 in Mumbai. The five-day event, being organised by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in partnership with the India Ports Association, will showcase India’s vision for sustainable maritime growth, trade expansion, and blue economy development. While speaking at the event, Amit Shah said our maritime business contributes approximately 60 per cent to our GDP. There are 23.7 lakh kilometres of exclusive economic zones and special economic zones. "The 28 countries of the Indian Ocean region contribute approximately 12 per cent to global exports.
