Rainfall has begun in the southern districts of Odisha as Cyclone ‘Montha’ starts to make its impact on Monday. According to reports, dark clouds covered the skies, bringing light showers to several parts of Bhubaneswar in the afternoon. Intermittent drizzle continued across many areas as weather conditions kept changing.
Coastal districts also experienced light rain accompanied by mild winds due to the cyclone’s influence. Rain has been reported in districts such as Khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, and Puri.
As per the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall and wind speeds of up to 40 km per hour are expected between 2:58 pm and 5:58 pm in districts including Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kandham
