Maharashtra batter Prithvi Shaw struck a blazing double century off just 141 balls in the second innings of the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy match against Chandigarh on Monday. His 141-ball double hundred is the third-fastest in Ranji Trophy history.
Shaw reached his century in just 72 balls—missing a spot among the top five fastest Ranji centurions by only four deliveries. He crossed 150 in 105 balls, as per Wisden .
His marathon innings came to an end after 156 balls, having scored 222 runs studded with 29 fours and five sixes. Maharashtra stood at 348/3 in 50.2 overs, with Ruturaj Gaikwad (27*) at the crease.
Ahead of the 2025–26 domestic season, Shaw switched his allegiance to Maharashtra after receiving a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Mumbai earlier this year.
