Following complaints from residents in Baltimore City, a package of bills will be introduced on Monday to restrict smoke and vape shops.
The bills would bar smoke shops from being next door to each other or within 500 feet of schools or recreation center and restrict bright lights on all businesses, including smoke shops.
“You know it’s not that we should not have any of these shops but to have concentrations where you have multiple blocks with multiple smoke shops is not something I think we want anywhere in the city,” Baltimore City Councilman Zac Blanchard said.
Blanchard and Councilmen Tony Glover and Jermaine Jones are the three who are introducing the legislation. A news conference is expected at 11 a.m.
