Union Home Minister Amit Shah made an indirect attack on the Congress and other opposition parties over alleged “parivarvad” (dynastic politics), while lauding the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He said that the BJP is the only party where a booth president can go on to become the National President of the party.

While speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new BJP office in Mumbai, Union Minister Amit Shah said, “BJP is the only political party in India, where a booth president can go on to become the National President of the party. I am the biggest example of it. I started my journey in the BJP in 1981 as a booth president, and my party gave me a chance to become the National President of the party.
