Guwahati Issues Traffic Restrictions Ahead of Chhath Puja on October 27

Guwahati: Ahead of the Chhath Puja celebrations on October 27 and 28, the Guwahati Traffic Police has announced a detailed plan of traffic restrictions, diversions, and parking regulations to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety. The measures will remain in effect from 11 AM on October 27 to 11 AM on October 28.

The restrictions prohibit commercial and heavy goods vehicles from entering Guwahati city limits during the festive period. Movement on MG Road from Machkhowa Point to the Chief Justice’s Bungalow Point will be restricted, except for vehicles carrying devotees or puja materials. City buses from Khanapara to Bharalumukh will operate via G.S. Road, A.T Road, while ASTC inter-district buses from Jalukbari will be diverted throu
