SRINAGAR : The Jammu and Kashmir government has eased the eligibility criteria for the Marriage Assistance Scheme, allowing relaxation in the minimum educational qualification requirement for girls from economically weaker sections. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp
According to a government order issued by the Commissioner Secretary, the minimum qualification bar of 8th Class Pass or its equivalent has been relaxed up to March 31, 2028.
The order further stated that the amendment annexed as ‘A’ will come into effect from April 1, 2025, and will remain valid for the notified period.
The Marriage Assistance Scheme provides financial support to eligible girls from underprivileged families to assist with marriage-related expenses.
