Plans to install a safe crossing to Kenilworth Castle are currently waiting on English Heritage before they can move forward.

Kenilworth Town Council has been working on the major project to provide a pedestrian crossing across Castle Road for several months, having held a public consultation and agreed on a location for the link.

Castle operator, English Heritage has also been granted planning permission for works to create new paths to connect the crossing to the castle itself, but needs to finalise the designs.

Speaking at last week’s Kenilworth Town Council meeting, Cllr Alan Chalmers updated members: “We did ask the question [about a timetable]. We will need to chase that up.
