India batter Shreyas Iyer remains under medical supervision at a Sydney hospital after sustaining a laceration to his spleen during the third ODI against Australia. While there is no set timeline for his discharge, the 29-year-old is reported to be stable and continues to be monitored in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“Shreyas Iyer sustained an impact injury to his left lower rib cage region while fielding during the third ODI against Australia. He was taken to the hospital for further evaluation,” the BCCI said in a statement.
