A new poll shows Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill with a multipoint advantage over her Republican rival Jack Ciattarelli in the race to be New Jersey's next governor.

According to the A2 Insights online poll of 812 likely voters in the state, 51.4 percent said they would back Sherrill, over 46.5 percent who said they were behind Ciattarelli.

Just 0.5 percent said they would vote for someone else, and only 1.5 percent were undecided. The poll was weighted to be representative of New Jersey's population.

Sherrill currently serves in the U.S. House. Ciattarelli is a former member of the New Jersey General Assembly.

The New Jersey gubernatorial election takes place on November 4. The incumbent governor of New Jersey is Phil Murphy, a Democrat.
