PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Gas prices around the River City continue to fall, inching closer to $3 per gallon.
GasBuddy’s 148 station survey in Peoria said the average price has fallen 2.9 cents per gallon, averaging $3.11 per gallon Monday.
This makes prices 20.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 21.3 cents per gallon lower than this time last year.
The cheapest station in Peoria was priced at $2.86 per gallon Sunday. The most expensive was $3.39 per gallon - a 53-cent difference.

Around Illinois, the cheapest gas was $2.57 per gallon. The highest was $4.92 per gallon - a $1.92 per gallon difference.
Nationally, the average price of gas has risen 2.5 cents in the last week and averages $3 per gallon Monday.
Diesel is up 4.7 cent
