The Supreme Court on Monday asked all states and union territories to inform within eight weeks on how the guidelines formulated to deal with students' mental health problems and suicide incidents have been implemented.
A bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta has ordered the central government to file an affidavit within 8 weeks. It has been asked to provide information on the steps taken for the compliance of these guidelines.
This hearing in the Supreme Court was related to the decision given on July 25, in which the court had said that all states and union territories should formulate rules for registration, student safety, and grievance redressal for private coaching centers within two months.
