NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two people were killed and another was injured after an officer-involved shooting at a North Augusta gas station Sunday afternoon, officials say.
Multiple agencies responded near the Sprint gas station at 107 Edgefield Road, including the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.
Upon arrival, North Augusta Department of Public Safety officers encountered an armed suspect in the parking lot, where they were shot by an officer, according to officials.
No officers were injured, officials say.
Officers say the investigation revealed that two victims who had been shot prior to officers’ arrival.
The coroner’s office will release the names of the victims after their families have been notified.
