LATHAM, N.Y. (WBNG) -- A retired New York State Trooper was arrested for grand larceny after allegedly using union funds for personal expenses.
An investigation determined that between March 2018 and October 2022, Thomas H. Mungeer, 56, misappropriated union funds for personal use and expenses while serving as the President of the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association.
On Oct. 24, Mungeer was arrested at the Troop G Headquarters in Latham.
Mungeer was arraigned in Albany City Court and released, pending his next court appearance in December.
Current president of the New York State Police Benevolent Association, Charles W. Murphy, said that Mungeer’s arrest came after an investigation that began nearly three years ago.
