Spooky season is upon us as new rules , investigations and proposals haunt Brunswick County towns.

October is closing with new open burning rules enforced in Leland, development ideas in St. James and much more.

The town of Leland enacted a new ordinance that prohibits open burning for land clearing purposes . Their decision stemmed from a wave of residential anger after burning of a future shopping center site filled the sky surrounding the Brunswick Forest community with smoke for several days.
