INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The office of Indiana Governor Mike Braun has announced that, on Monday, Governor Braun will sign a proclamation calling a special legislative session for General Assembly to convene on Monday, Nov. 3.
The special legislative session will be for the sake of considering changing the boundaries of Indiana's congressional districts.
In a statement, Governor Braun says, “I am calling a special legislative session to protect Hoosiers from efforts in other states that seek to diminish their voice in Washington and ensure their representation in Congress is fair."
In response, State Democrats called the announced session "illegitimate", with Senate Democratic Leader Shelli Yoder (D-Bloomington) stating, "This is not democracy. This is desperation," an
