BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Burlington will soon have a new independent movie theater to call its own.
Ever since the Roxy movie theater in Burlington closed , Brett Yates and his wife, Michelle Sagalchik, wondered where people could go to see a movie in town.
“We kind of asked around to see if anyone else was going to start it. We knew that the Roxy was not likely going to be able to reopen as a movie theater, and we started thinking about what was possible,” Sagalchik said.
They call the theater Partizanfilm , inspired by the art that filmmaking brings to the viewer. Located at 230 College Street, the theater is housed in a former yoga studio.
