Government to take official steps respecting Sant Kabir’s cultural legacy

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that Mustafabad in Uttar Pradesh will be renamed Kabirdham . He said the decision honors the cultural and spiritual connection of the region with Sant Kabir.

Speaking at the ‘ Smriti Mahotsav Mela 2025 ’ held in Lakhimpur Kheri, CM Adityanath revealed that the government will soon initiate the official process for the name change.

Explaining the reason behind the proposal, Yogi Adityanath stated that he was surprised to learn that the area was called Mustafabad despite having no Muslim population.
