BERKELEY COUNTY — Days after a sedan collided head-on with a semi truck on a rural county road, the coroner’s office has identified the sedan driver who was killed in the Oct. 24 crash.

Aria Lawrence, 24, of Andrews was pronounced dead on the scene near the intersection of N. Highway 17A and Peartree Lane. The county coroner released her identity on Oct. 26.

Around 4:30 p.m. Oct. 24, Lawrence was driving a Chevy Malibu northbound on the highway when her vehicle sideswiped a Ford pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction, according to Master Trooper William Bennett with the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Lawrence’s sedan then collided head-on with a semi truck that’d been driving behind the pickup truck on the two-lane highway.
