(WSPA) - Widespread rain is expected throughout the day in the Upstate and mountains with heavy downpours at times.
Rain is expected to continue through the evening then will gradually wind down overnight with a few showers lingering into Tuesday morning.
Areas of the Upstate and western North Carolina could see between 1.5" and 2" of rainfall.
Along with the rain, temperatures will struggle to warm up. Highs will only be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
Winds will also be a factor. Gusts could get as high as 30 mph while sustained winds will be around 10 to 15 mph.
The combination of rain and wind will make temperatures feel cooler, creating a wind chill factor. With the temperatures reading near 50 degrees, it will feel like only the lower 40s.
