CLEVELAND — The parents of 3-year-old Julian Wood delivered emotional statements in court Monday during the sentencing of convicted murderer Bionca Ellis, who fatally stabbed the toddler outside the Giant Eagle in North Olmsted in 2024.

Ellis, 34, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole by Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge John J. Russo, receiving the maximum penalty for her crimes. The sentencing came just two days before what would have been Julian’s fifth birthday.

Earlier this month, a jury found Ellis guilty on all counts , including one count of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of endangering children, and one count of misdemeanor theft.
