A driver accused of hitting a father and his 2-year-old son as they were crossing the street in Southborough, Massachusetts, over the weekend has been cited for negligence, according to local police.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Southborough Police Chief Ryan Newell. A family of four was in the crosswalk on Main Street when the driver of a Ford Escape SUV hit the father and the 2-year-old boy.

The toddler was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The father was not hurt.
The driver, identified as 85-year-old Thomas Turner of Wayland, stayed at the scene after the crash.
Police say a preliminary investigation found that Wayland did not slow down for the pedestrian
