OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Southview Heights Assisted Living residents got their Halloween wish this weekend as hundreds of trick-or-treaters filled their parking lot for the facility’s annual trunk or treat event.
“They talk nonstop about it for months and they beg me all year to do it again this year,” said Debbie Mass, assistant director of Southview Heights.
Families dressed in costumes while residents handed out candy and shared smiles with dozens of children. The event has become particularly meaningful after recent challenges limited traditional neighborhood trick-or-treating.
“Since COVID hit, we don’t have a lot of trick or treaters in our neighborhood and residents do not have a lot of activities,” Mass said.
