SRINAGAR: Police have detained three individuals in connection with the vandalism of a statue of BR Ambedkar in Jammu Kashmir’s Kathua district. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

Officials said the statue, located in a public park in Bani area, was found damaged on Sunday, following which the police registered a case under Sections 196 and 324(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Bani Police Station.

Section 196 of the BNS pertains to promoting hatred, disharmony, or enmity between different groups on grounds such as religion, caste, language, or community, while Section 324(2) deals with offences relating to mischief and damage to property.
