COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTV) - A college student survived getting hit by a train in South Carolina over the weekend, police said.
The Oct. 25 collision happened just after noon on Saturday on the tracks going under Blossom Street , on the edge of the University of South Carolina’s campus in Columbia.
Columbia police confirmed that the person hit was a student at the university, and that he was walking along the tracks when he got hit. After the collision, police said he was taken to the hospital with “multiple serious injuries.”
Police also said the train was operated by CSX, and that the train line was involved in the investigation.
