Two of the Charleston area’s popular beach communities will cast their votes for mayor and council members on Nov. 4.

On the Isle of Palms, a three-way race has emerged for mayor of the coastal city. Incumbent Phillip Pounds is seeking a second term against Scott Pierce, a current councilman, and Jon Regan Walters, a retired U.S. Army Colonel. They shared their views and priorities during a forum hosted by The Island Eye News on Oct. 21.

Meanwhile, on Sullivan’s Island the current mayor, Pat O’Neil is running unopposed but three council seats are up for grabs.
