WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A scooter operator who was struck by a minivan on Oct. 21 in West Haven has died, police said Monday.
Police said a 24-year-old man from New Haven succumbed to his injuries sustained during the crash.
Authorities were dispatched around 5 p.m. on Oct. 21 to Forest Road and Derby Avenue on the report of a motor vehicle crash.
The scooter operator was traveling east on Derby Avenue when he entered the intersection. He was struck by a minivan that was traveling west on Derby Avenue which had attempted to turn left onto Forest Road against a red light.
The scooter operator was ejected from their vehicle and landed on a nearby curb.
Police said a "passerby" administered CPR before first responders arrived. The scooter operator
