After moving to Shenandoah County in 2020, Terry Thiele rekindled her passion for photography, specifically bird photography, while sitting in her backyard.
“I took photography in high school, in the dark room days,” she said as she patiently waited for a hummingbird to photograph. “I studied art in college but chose interior design. Once I got into that creative field, it wasn’t as creative in reality. It was more production. I ended up moving and focusing on a good career path that makes decent money.”
Unfortunately, that path steered her away from creative endeavors, like photography. She spent her 20s and 30s appreciating art rather than creating it. After building her home in the Woodstock area, Thiele said she began to notice the beauty around her.
