Their five-game winning streak seemed an encouraging, albeit early, sign that this Detroit Red Wings squad just may end its nine-year playoff drought, but the better indication is straight ahead.

The Wings start a five-game road trip on Tuesday, Oct. 28, and playing away from Little Caesars Arena so far has been bafflingly hard for the team. They're 1-2 on the road, with that one victory all Cam Talbot in the net. The Maple Leafs outplayed the Wings in every aspect in that game on Oct. 13, but Talbot's outstanding performance yielded two points and a victory celebration.
