PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WRBL) -- An Alabama Judge ordered a man charged with murder to be held without bond during a Monday morning hearing.

Jamarie Leonard is facing murder and aggravated assault charges in the September shooting death of 33-year-old LeNorris Boyd Jr., in a South Phenix City apartment complex. During the Aniah’s Law hearing, District Court Judge Walter Gray found there was significant evidence to hold Boyd without bond.

The Sept. 29 shooting happened at Brookwood Apartments near the Chattahoochee Valley Community College campus. Leonard had been a fugitive for more than a month until he was apprehended by U.S. marshals last Thursday in Eufaula, Alabama.
