The man suspected of committing the Liverpool FC parade attack earlier this year has appeared in court today. Paul Doyle, of Burghill Road in West Derby, faces a series of alleged offences after a car was driven into crowds of fans during the Reds’ Premier League title celebrations in the city centre.

The 53-year-old was brought before Liverpool Crown Court this morning, Monday October 27, for a pre-trial review.

It comes after more than 100 pedestrians, ranging from children to a 78-year-old woman, were injured after being struck by a Ford Galaxy on Water Street shortly after 6pm on May 26 this year - with 50 having required hospital treatment, the ECHO reports .
