Gavin Newsom has said “anti-woke” is nothing more than “anti-Black”, and charged the Trump administration with “putting America in reverse”.

The Democratic governor of California aired his thoughts on the All the Smoke podcast, saying: “I can’t take what’s going on.

“It’s not even about Democrats versus Republicans, it’s about this country and what we stand for. They’re putting America in reverse, to a pre-1960s world. You’ve got the Supreme Court talking about getting rid of the Voting Rights Act, that may happen in just a matter of months.
