Julian Edelman likes what he’s seen from the Patriots and Drake Maye of late.

The Super Bowl LIII MVP hasn’t shied away from criticizing his former team early in the season. But he gave them their flowers on Sunday.

“The Patriots are for real, and I’m very critical of this team. The last four weeks, all you’ve seen is nothing but improvement,” Edelman said on FOX prior to New England’s game against the Cleveland Browns . “They had some fumble issues early on in the season. They’ve kind of tapered that off. Drake Maye has been playing elite. He’s got three to five throws that just wow you. But he’s also hitting his layups. We haven’t seen an offense like that in New England since ( Tom Brady ) was there."
