TYLER, Texas — The woman at the center of an Tyler police arrest in May that went viral has been indicted on multiple charges in connection with the incident.
Brianna Erwin was indicted June 26 on charges of aggravated assault on a public servant, harassment of a public servant and possession of a controlled substance stemming from the May 11 arrest in which she accused of resisting arrest and firing an officer's weapon.
On May 11, Tyler police were investigating a theft at Dollar General on Gentry Parkway when they saw two people believed to be suspects. Police said one person followed orders, while a woman, who was identified as Brianna Erwin, tried to walked away and "resisted when ordered to stop."
