DETROIT, MI - This month, Grand Valley State University (GVSU) leaders announced the school would join forces with Detroit’s historic Michigan Central, a recently revamped technology and cultural hub in the state’s biggest city.

Both partners say the goal of the collaboration is two-fold: to create accessible career pathways for Detroit students and to expand the West Michigan university’s foothold in Detroit.

Michigan Central, a historic landmark at 2001 15th St. in Detroit, was once a passenger rail station that was bought by the Ford Motor Company and restored .
