New Delhi, Oct 27: Chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Monday announced that following a successful voter verification exercise, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will now be conducted in 12 states and Union Territories, with their respective voter lists set to be locked tonight.
Addressing a press briefing, the CEC congratulated election officials and voters in Bihar, where the SIR process was completed successfully, and elaborated on the purpose and procedures behind the voter list “purification drive.”
