INDIANAPOLIS —

Two tortoises were stolen from a zoo in Indiana, and police want the public's help finding them.

The Capitol Police Section of the Indiana State Police put out a notice on Monday.

They said an Egyptian tortoise and a Northern spider tortoise were taken from the Indianapolis Zoo sometime between 10 a.m. Oct. 11 and 10 a.m. Oct. 12.

While the animals are microchipped, they still haven't been found.

ISP said both species are critically endangered.

The Egyptian tortoise is said to have a prominent scar on its underside.
