Democrats Monday targeted the Staten Island-based congressional district represented by Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-New York) with a fresh lawsuit as the partisan redistricting war intensifies ahead of next year’s midterm elections in which President Trump is seeking to keep control of Congress.

Four New York voters filed a lawsuit accusing state lawmakers of violating the rights of Black and Latino voters by drawing the NY-11 district to encompass Staten Island and GOP-friendly parts of south Brooklyn, allowing Malliotakis to become the city’s only GOP member of Congress.
