A man has tragically died after a plane crash at an airfield in Kinross. ‌

The 81-year-old pilot was pronounced dead at the scene at the Scottish Gliding Centre near Scotlandwell on Monday afternoon. ‌

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the Air Accidents Investigation Branch had been made aware of the incident. ‌

Paramedics, Police Scotland and fire crews were all called to the incident just before 2pm. There are no reports of other casualties.

The man has not been named but his next of kin have been made aware.
