BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Brian Kelly era at LSU ended Sunday night after a 49–25 home loss to Texas A&M.
Kelly’s firing , less than four years into a 10-year, $100 million contract, has triggered one of the biggest coaching searches in college football.
Kelly departs with a 34-14 record over four seasons (19-10 SEC), three straight bowl wins and an SEC Championship Game appearance in 2022. His 2023 offense produced Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels and first-round picks Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr.
On Monday morning, LSU also dismissed offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan .
LSU’s athletic director Scott Woodward said the search for Kelly’s replacement would begin “immediately.”
Interim head coach Frank Wilson will lead the Tigers in the meantime.
