MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - A 38-year-old man will spend more than two decades behind bars after being found guilty in a child sexual abuse case.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office said Brian Matthew Cort was convicted of first-degree sodomy and two counts of first-degree sex abuse. He was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison.

The abuse happened in Sept. 2020.

The district attorney’s office said Cort, who was a friend of the victim’s family, met with the 11-year-old boy to go kayaking on the Columbia River. Before the trip, Cort brought the victim to his home and sexually assaulted him. Then they went kayaking for the day.

When the victim was pickup by his dad, he told him what happened and the dad called the police.
