Nagaland University inaugurated a new Cancer Research Laboratory at the Department of Zoology, Lumami, on October 23, marking a milestone in the institution’s scientific development and its growing focus on addressing cancer prevalence in Nagaland. The inauguration was followed by a one-day workshop on cancer research.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Abemo, Registrar of the University, as the Guest of Honour. The programme was chaired by Dr. RamitaSougrakpam, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology.
The event began with the ribbon-cutting and inspection of the new facility, during which the Chief Guest was briefed on the laboratory’s equipment and capabilities.
