EUGENE - Oregon freshmen running backs Dierre Hill Jr. and Jordon Davison were seemingly meant to operate out of the Ducks’ backfield together.

Before they met, both were impressed by the other’s ability. When they met, they became instant friends.

“It’s really like a brother-brother situation,” Hill said. “I would call him my brother as if my mother had him. It truly is. We’re that close to each other.”

Said Davison: “That’s my right-hand man. People probably think it’s just on the field, but we’re together every day off the field all the time.”

Eight games into their careers at Oregon, each has flashed dizzying potential. The fleet-footed Hill is a big play waiting to happen. The bulky Davison operates with sneaky speed.
