Coal gasification to increase in scale as big companies express interest to expand operations

Coal gasification is all set to increase in scale with big corporates expressing interest to expand their operations in the sector.

Government sources have told CNBC-TV18 that a new action plan is being prepared, and three large conglomerates have learnt to have expressed their interest in investing more to increase their footprint in coal gasification.

Sources indicated that private partnerships with Coal India for underground coal gasification are being explored, even as India is exploring technology partnerships in underground coal gasification with several countries.
