SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI – A 43-year-old Illinois man died in a multi-vehicle crash on westbound I-69 in Shiawassee County on Oct. 26.
The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at 6:26 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28 at I-69 and the Colby Lake Road overpass in Woodhull Township.
Deputies believe the crash occurred after a Ram 1500 swerved to the left to avoid crashing into a Kia K4 and Mitsubishi Outlander that were parked in the roadway on the south shoulder.
Investigators believe the Ram struck a guardrail, the parked Kia K4, the parked Outlander, and the driver of the Outlander who was standing outside of his vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation by the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office.
