The New York Yankees pivoted from the loss of Juan Soto better than just about anyone anticipated, but that didn't fully remove the shock.

Soto signed a 15-year, $765 million megadeal with the New York Mets last December, and the Yankees wasted no time in acquiring four former All-Stars -- Max Fried, Cody Bellinger, Paul Goldschmidt, and Devin Williams -- to revamp their roster. It was a strategy that paid off in a 94-win season, but it could have been just a temporary fix.
