A lottery ticket that hit the top prize in the “$250,000 Crossword” scratch-off game was sold last week in Somerset County, New Jersey Lottery officials said Monday.
The winning ticket was purchased Wednesday at Fine Fare supermarket at 621 Hamilton St. in the Somerset section of Franklin Township.
The win is the first of six available $250,000 top prizes in the game.
More than 3.6 million tickets were printed for the game, which launched in August.
Two of the 10 second-prize tickets in the game worth $20,000 each were also purchased last week at a Walmart on Route 72 west in Manahawkin and Paramus Food Center in Paramus.
According to the New Jersey Lottery, the odds of winning are “better than 1 ticket in 5” on average in the game.
