Police in Cherry Hill are assisting with an FBI investigation in the area of Walt Whitman Boulevard and Baldwin Road, police said Monday afternoon .

An FBI spokeswoman said the agency was conducting a “court-authorized” operation but did not share additional details about what prompted the search and if anyone was detained.

Authorities said there was no threat to the nearby Horace Mann Elementary School or the public, but said that residents in the area might notice a “large and increased police presence in the area.”

One man was taken out of the house in handcuffs, witnesses told NJ Advance Media at the scene.

Authorities were at the scene before noon and were communicating with someone in the residence using a megaphone, according to one witness.
